CopyQ is an advanced clipboard manager available for all platforms including Ubuntu. It has some advanced features such as Searchable and editable history, image format supports, command line control and more.

How to install CopyQ in Ubuntu – using Terminal

Download the deb files from here.

To install CopyQ 2.4.3 in Ubuntu using terminal run below commands in sequence. Enter password when prompted.

cd ~/Downloads/
sudo dpkg -i copyq_2.4.3_Debian_7.0_amd64.deb


  • Type CopyQ in dash. Click the launcher icon.
  • For Gnome, go to Application -> Accessories -> CopyQ

How to uninstall

To uninstall CopyQ run below commands in terminal.

sudo dpkg -r copyq
