Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet is released with average set of improvements and some very firsts. There is not much of a change on the look-n-feel can be felt by the average user but this release is important for some very important first time changes in Ubuntu release.

New Features
Systemd
Systemd is the new init system for Ubuntu replacing current init system Upstart. Users may see a minor change in total booting time depending on their system configuration.
Unity 7.3
Latest Unity 7.3 is plugged in in 15.04 release and its default desktop environment and contains some improvements from prior Unity releases and bug fixes. Remember the “File, Edit” menus that shows up when you hover your mouse at the top of the screen, well with Unity 7.3 you have an option to set application menus to Always Show.
Kernel 3.19
Ubuntu 15.04 comes with a modified version of the current Linux kernel 3.19.3 with patches.
